Arghoslent
Incorrigible Bigotry
Self-Released

I must say I'm really fucking pleased with this CD. Arghoslent are a US band that play death metal with a lot of influence from older metal bands like Iron Maiden, Venom, etc, and a good bit of influence from the more melodic black/death bands outta Europe, Dissection and the like.

While they do take influence from other bands, Arghoslent is 100% original and I can tell they are very serious about creating unique, powerful music and not just another less-serious band looking to spurt out releases. All of their lyrics are very unique to them, in that a lot of them deal with the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, and the others with warfare and battle. They have a very cool feel to them and add a lot to the band I think.

This release has 7 songs and clocks in at 37 minutes of pure metal chaos. Arghoslent seem to put so much more emotion and thought into their songs than lots of other bands, and it's really obvious. When listening to the songs you are just listening to some transparent scene wankery bullshit, but you can tell that you are fucking listening to an album that had blood, sweat and tears put into it. The songs get inside your mind and your heart, changing your perspective, drawing you in, pummeling you.

A great deal of melody is put into the songs, yet does not over saturate the songs, but only enhances the feelings of hatred and anger that Arghoslent pass through their songs. Each musician in Arghoslent is obviously talented and control their instruments with apt skill, yet the music on Incorrigible Bigotry never becomes over technical or superficial nonsense. I really can't recommend this album enough to you. Don't call yourself a fan of real death metal if you don't go pick this up.
